Fenland Rods 2022 - all the winners

 LADEEEES AND GENTLEMENNN

I PRESENT THE WOOOOOOOORLD CHAMPIONNNNNN

KEVIIIIN LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Les Bedford's widow, Wendy, was unable to present the Bedford Trophy,
fished in memory of Les. So her son, Callum, made the presentation to
Sunday's winner of the match, on Les' favourite lake, Damson, to Kevin Lee.

Next, our esteemed chairman John  Smith handed over the Club Cup, fished on the first
match of the season on Willows lake, to...Peter The Paste (aka Pete The Meat) Spriggs
.

The shield for the biggest fish of the season went to Shaun Buddle, for his 19 lb 3 oz carp.

Top three in the Handicap match, fished on Six-Island lake, each receive a medal./
L-R Silver: Mac Campbell (me) - Bronze - Mel Lutkin; Gold - Kevin Lee.

THE BIG ONE

Already holding the Bedford Cup, and with his winning Handicap medal around his neck,
It's That Man Again, Kevin Lee, receiving his Club Champion cup from John.
Kevin is our treasurer (thanks, Kev) - gotta keep in with the treasurer!! The cup goes
to the best overall angler, with every match counting - no droppers. Well done again, Kev.

For the record, Callum went into the final match as the only angler capable of beating Kevin to the Club Championship, but Kevin's win in that last match ensured he won. Callum ended as a most worthy runner-up, followed by me, with Peter Spriggs fourth. I will publish the full result when I get it from our compiler, Mel Lutkin. Also:

The club decided to keep the system used to decide on the club champion - all matches to count with 15 points awarded to the winner, 14 to second etc. No droppers.

The club also decided that although we will all still aim for a maximum of 50 lb in our nets, for next season at least, we will count weights up to 60 lb, bearing in mind that we have to be able to lift our nets out of the water for weighing!

Covid having ruined our plans for a Christmas presentation night, with wives, for the last two years, we have asked Mel Lutkin to attempt to arrange one for next year.

See you all next season, lads.
