Spratts on Beastie

Big carp are still coming out of Decoy, and some were taken in the latest Spratts match, which I couldn’t fish. Roy Whitwell drew my favourite peg 18 on Beastie lake, and won fishing pellet and maggot close in, taking carp to 12 lb in his 70 lb 4 oz catch.

Peter Spriggs was second on peg 30,  with 64 lb 10 oz of carp to 8 lb, taken mainly on cat meat in the margins. Organiser Trevor Cousins  had two carp on the Method early on, on peg 24, and added fish from the margins in his total of 54 lb 11 oz. His best carp weighed 14 lb 9 oz.
